Lydia Patterson Institute is the only remaining United Methodist
institution in the United States, that serves a predominately
Hispanic population Lydia Patterson Institute continues to serve
as a church-related and church-supported institution because of
its mission to serve a special human need in a environment where
faith and knowledge interact to enrich our lives and develop Christian
leader ship for church and society.
The
geographical location of Lydia Patterson Institute presents
to the Church a continuing strategic opportunity for the
preparation of persons from United States, Mexico and
Latin American for mission and ministry in an international
cross-cultural setting.
The
institute's mission is, therefore:

- To represent the Christian faith as understood by the United
Methodist Church.

- To provide quality Bi-lingual cross-cultural academic education.
C
- To provide a Center where local church leaders, clergy and lay persons may receive training and experience in effecting Christian
witness and ministry with persons of other races and ethic
backgrounds.
D
-To develop leadership skills in persons interested in cross-cultural
and international positions of Christian ministry.
