 Lay Ministry Class

Lydia Patterson Institute, is not only classes and homework, but also a daily encounter with God. Every morning a daily prayer is said before classes start, and at noon, before food is served. Students are encouraged to lead the prayer. Lydia Patterson has a beautiful chapel with a capacity for 300 students plus teachers and staff.

Once a week a chapel service is led by the school chaplain. Joys, concerns, petitions for prayer, choir presentations, and scripture readings is the order of the chapel service. Religion courses are offered by professional teachers in the field.

The courses are: Bible survey, the Life of Jesus, Christian Ethics and Christian Triangle. These courses are a requirement for graduation from Lydia Patterson.

Every student leaves the school with a true knowledge of faith and a sense of responsibility for themselves and for others.

MODERN LYDIA PATTERSON CREED

We believe in God,

our Supreme Being,

the Father,

who is the creator of the earth,

the universe, and anything living and nonliving

We believe that God came to earth

as a human, The Son of God,

Jesus of Nazareth,

to redeem us from our sins,

save us from eternal death,

and give us eternal life.

We believe that Jesus is the mediator

between God and humans.

We believe in the Holy Spirit,

the giver of life,

who helps us through our lives.

We believe the Holy Spirit is the Word of God,

and that the Word is with us.

We believe the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

are one God,

making up the Trinity.

We believe that God created us

in God's image to love God,

and to be loved by God.

We believe that in serving others,

we are serving God, as God's servants.

We believe Jesus will come back to judge us,

according to our faith.
