LPI has a great sports history, and is very competitive in its division. The Varsity Basketball team has gone to state competition and has always placed at the top. Cross country teams have also competed at the state level.
Lydia Patterson has a variety of sports and students are encouraged to participate. The school's official mascot is the lion. Athletic Director/Coach: Gerardo Yuen.
The faculty and staff participate in the intramural events. The soccer team has won many competitions during the last few years. Coach Murillo's team has won the finals for the past three years. In volleyball, faculty-organized teams have also won the finals for several years.
